This Thursday, June 28, D2 Center Careers and Community Engagement Class students will participate in a food tour to learn more about careers in agriculture and culinary arts. The tour starts at an urban farm here in Omaha, followed by a trip to Nebraska City. In Nebraska City, the first stop is the Lied Lodge for lunch and discussion with chef Matthew Taylor, who focuses on local sustainable cuisine, then to Arbor Day Farm to see farming and conservation in a more rural setting. The tour will end back in Omaha by 2:30 PM.

8:45 am- Depart from the D2 Center
9:15 am- Arrive at Big Muddy Urban Farm & Sweet Thyme Farm
10:30 am- Depart to Lied Lodge and Conference Center
11:30 am- Arrive at Lied Lodge, Lunch & discussion with Chef Matthew Taylor
12:15 pm- Farm and Orchard tour
1:30 pm- Wrap up and return to Omaha
2:30 pm- Return to the D2 Center
Students who participate in this food tour can earn hours towards the D2 Center Careers and Community Engagement elective credit class.
