Metropolitan Community College (MCC) is a comprehensive, full-service community college that offers affordable, quality education to the four-county service area of Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy and Washington counties. MCC offers 175+ degrees and awards in arts, business and office careers, computing and electronics, culinary, horticulture, health, industrial and technical trades, public service and transfer programs.
The Gateway to College Program is a school option that allows for dual credits for a high school diploma and MCC college credits. The MCC Express at 24th & Vinton offers free tutoring, ESL classes, GED classes, an open computer lab, and other services.

Many cities are home to a large number of young adults who have not finished school, and lack a clear pathway to do so. In response, a growing number of cities have put specific strategies in place for youth and young adults aged 16 to 24. These efforts include the establishment of one-stop reengagement centers or virtual equivalents that offer a range of services, including referrals to school completion options and support to re-enroll. As the Reengagement Network hub, NLC assists cities in exploring and pursuing reengagement policy and programming.

A services agreement between OPS and the D2 Center creates a partnership with the school district where the D2 Center now assists OPS with outreach to students who have already withdrawn from school or who are showing signs of disengagement and potentially dropping out of school. The goal is to both reduce the number of dropouts as well as to encourage students who left the district but are eligible to enroll to reenroll back into school.
