D2 Center (D2C) Career Navigators work with students getting close to graduation as they start thinking about what’s next after high school. For some, this may be thinking about community college, 4-year college, or certificate programs and trades. Other students are ready to work full or part-time. Our team of Career Navigators, Bette Norton Ball, John Flemming, and Sheri Harrach, are each retired Omaha Public Schools (OPS) guidance counselors and they have a wealth of knowledge to share with D2C students. They work 1:1 with students to help them figure out what’s needed to get to that next step.
Career Navigator assistance options include help with:
- Filling out Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Career exploration and planning
- Resume building and job search
- Scholarship applications
- Connections to specific local companies and postsecondary schools
John, Bette, and Sheri also teach the D2C Elective “Navigating Your Future” and contact disengaged students through the D2C / OPS Reengagement Project.
Their experience, student focus, and positive attitudes are an invaluable part of the D2 Center!
